Double Recognition for DelAgua's Live Well Programme at the Global Good Awards and 60 Decibels Energy Awards
We are proud to share that DelAgua’s Live Well programme has been recognised twice this month: a Bronze award in the Climate for Good category at the Global Good Awards 2026, and a runner-up place in the 60 Decibels Energy Awards in the Clean Cooking category.
Bronze at the Global Good Awards 2026: Climate for Good
The Global Good Awards celebrate organisations around the world that are driving real social and environmental change. The Climate for Good category recognises initiatives delivering measurable action on climate, and we are honoured that the judges awarded Live Well Bronze.
Live Well tackles climate change at household level. Our high-performance cookstoves burn wood more efficiently than traditional three-stone fires, which cuts carbon emissions, eases pressure on forests and reduces the smoke families breathe every day. Each stove comes with education and ongoing support and is provided free of charge through carbon finance to rural households who could not otherwise afford access to clean cooking.
One of the judges said of our entry:
“A really inspiring entry, hitting the 2m stoves number and the 40 year longevity of the scheme shows real resilience. A truly exemplary impact that has benefitted the lives of millions across the 3 regions – health, time availability, support and education, jobs and less tree felling.”
This is the third time the Global Good Awards have recognised DelAgua, following Silver in Community Partnership in 2022 for our Tubeho Neza project in Rwanda and Silver in Technology for Good in 2023. We are grateful to the judges and to the organisers for continuing to champion this work.
Runner-up in the 60 Decibels Energy Awards
We were also named runner-up in the Clean Cooking category of the 60 Decibels Energy Awards 2026. These awards draw on the Energy Impact Index, which 60 Decibels describes as the world’s most comprehensive social impact assessment of off-grid energy.
What makes this recognition special is where the evidence comes from. 60 Decibels surveys a representative sample of each company’s customers directly and scores projects on twelve indicators across three pathways:
- Access & Inclusion: reaching people who had no clean energy before, serving lower-income households and resolving problems quickly.
- Everyday Wellbeing: whether quality of life has genuinely improved, spending on fuel has fallen and households feel better prepared for climate shocks.
- Opportunity: whether the product helps people earn more.
In short, this award reflects the voices of the families using our stoves. 60 Decibels has conducted three independent studies of Live Well. In 2024 they produced impact performance snapshots in Rwanda and Sierra Leone, and in March 2026 they completed a comprehensive study in Rwanda.
Thank you
These awards belong to our teams in Rwanda, The Gambia and Sierra Leone, and to the thousands of Community Health Workers who deliver Live Well household by household. Thank you also to our partners and investors, and above all to the families who welcome us into their homes and share their experiences so openly.
