In 2024 DelAgua was asked by the Clean Cooking Alliance (CCA) to participate in independent research funded by the CCA to provide better data on the impact of transitioning to clean cooking solutions. They selected DelAgua’s Tubeho Neza (Live Well ) project in Rwanda because of the scale, longevity, and integrity of the programme. DelAgua was pleased to work with 60 Decibels, the leading research company commissioned by the CCA to conduct the research. 60 Decibels is a tech-driven impact measurement company that engages directly with customers, employees, and beneficiaries via mobile phones. They collect high-quality data that enables organisations like DelAgua to maximise the impact of their work.
Robust data is key in understanding the efficacy of projects and in influencing impact investors that clean cooking is an investible sector with companies able to deliver large scale transformative programmes.
Between October and November 2024, 60 Decibels conducted 146 phone interviews and 34 SMS surveys with Tubeho Neza beneficiaries in Rwanda. These surveys included a blend of qualitative and quantitative questions, providing a comprehensive understanding of beneficiary experiences. Respondents were randomly selected from DelAgua’s full Rwanda database.
After completing the surveys, 60 Decibels analysed the data and delivered a detailed report. Below are the most significant insights from the study.
Here is DelAgua’s performance in Rwanda relative to the relevant 60 Decibels Cooking Benchmarks.
