Our credits are registered under VERRA’s Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) programme, the world’s largest greenhouse gas crediting programme. This means you can have confidence that for every 1 credit you purchase, 1 tonne of CO2 emissions has been avoided, alongside providing multiple health and environmental benefits.
What’s more, credits from our Rwanda projects are the very first to receive Article 6 Corresponding Adjustment (CA) labels from VERRA. Thanks to our 14-year close working partnership with the Government of Rwanda, (GoR) Letters of Authorisation have been signed with the Rwanda Environment Management Authority (REMA), the designated national authority of the GoR, which enables the issuance of the CA labels. A Corresponding Adjustment addresses the potential issue of double counting emission reductions. The project host country, Rwanda, agrees to not count the emissions reductions from the project as part of their national commitment to lower carbon emissions.
This provides even greater assurance around the integrity of our credits and makes them a more meaningful and valuable purchase. This will encourage further investment in DelAgua’s projects and we will be able to extend operations to new markets and accelerate action on dirty cooking.
