Meet PC Kanasang Bai Komp III. He is the Village Leader of Yele Gbonkolenken chiefdom.
“I want to share my sincere thanks and appreciation to DelAgua for their intervention in Yele Gbonkolenken chiefdom as the Paramount Chief. I was involved in this project since its inception, I had meetings with DelAgua, signed an agreement on the Clause of providing them with storage facility, security, and ideal distribution centres. I also provided them with youth volunteers that supported the name collection, distribution, and household visit activities.”
“I was invited by DelAgua during the distribution to witness the process and ensure all registered beneficiaries receive their stove. We appreciate their commitment I have made on behalf of them, that the stoves will not be moved out of the community neither will the stove be sold by any individual and that my community, Yele Gbonkolenken chiefdom, Northern Sierra Leone are committed to respect their calls or activities at any given time.”
“DelAgua has distributed around 4,000 stoves within Gbonkolenken chiefdom, they ensure all registered beneficiaries received the stove including myself as the paramount chief benefited from the stove.”

“Our villages have expressed appreciation for these stoves. Prior to receiving the stoves, they were collecting so much wood to cook on the 3-stone fire and these traditional fires also emit a lot of smoke which poses many health risks.”
“With the intervention of the DelAgua stoves, the frequency of collecting wood has drastically reduced which has helped the families to engage in some other domestic activities after cooking and save more money. The 3-stone fires used to cause a lot of fire accidents.”
“As Gbonkolenken is divided into four sections of which one section has been successfully completed, we look forward to continued collaboration with DelAgua to cover other sections.”
