VERRA Releases Film Showcasing DelAgua's Live Well Project Impact

This is the story of how families’ lives are transformed through carbon finance. Across Africa, millions of rural households lack access to clean cooking; which leads to mass deforestation, exposure to harmful smoke and women and children spending long hours collecting firewood.

DelAgua’s Live Well programme addresses this energy access gap that disproportionately affects rural communities by providing fuel efficient stoves free of charge to rural households. Verra plays a crucial role in certifying the project’s carbon emissions reduction through its Verified Carbon Standard program, enabling the generation & sale of high integrity carbon credits to fund the programme. Watch this short film (below) from VERRA and see how DelAgua’s clean cooking projects changes lives.

With huge thanks to our Rwanda families, staff and the VERRA team.

“The Live Well project shows how climate finance, guided by Verra’s VM0050 methodology, can achieve extraordinary results – cutting emissions, protecting health, and transforming lives. This is the kind of high-impact innovation the world urgently needs” – Candace Vinke, Chief Program Development and Innovation Officer VERRA
