Last week DelAgua team members attended S&P Global Carbon Markets Conference, held in Barcelona.
Chairman Neil McDougall, COO Euan McDougall and Commercial and Finance Director Rory McDougall joined thought leaders, policymakers, and industry experts who are shaping the future of carbon markets. Timed perfectly after COP, the conference provided a platform to analyse key agreements and their implications for the global carbon market. Discussions also emphasised the importance of advancing market mechanisms, such as CORSIA, to achieve significant climate action.
On day one of conference Euan joined Chris Slater from Oka, The Carbon Insurance Company, for a fireside chat to discuss ‘Safeguarding success: Strategies for developing and delivering Article 6 projects amid risks’. During their discussion they covered:
• How to ensure success by integrating governments at the core of Article 6 projects
• Understanding the relevance of an LOA and the necessity of securing a CA
• Developing contingency plans to safeguard against the revocation of a CA
• Strategies to de-risk investments and secure insurance against political risks
