Clean Cooking Alliance Report - Accelerating Clean Cooking as a Nature-based Climate Solution
‘Clean cooking is one of the most undervalued and underfunded tools to protect nature and livelihoods.’
DelAgua collaborated with the Clean Cooking Alliance to contribute to their vital new report published today : Accelerating Clean Cooking as a Nature-based Climate Solution, which examines how investing in clean cooking practices is key to achieving global climate and development goals – and to advancing nature-based solutions and conservation. This offers the first comprehensive look at how clean cooking is a critical nature-based solution to fight the climate crisis while protecting people and our planet.
The DelAgua Tubeho Neza project is featured (pages 30-31) , demonstrating how the provision of stoves to Rwanda’s rural poor is cutting wood use for cooking by 71%, reducing deforestation, protecting reforestation and so preserving vital ecosystems and wildlife habitats including that of Rwanda’s endangered Mountain Gorillas.
