I joined DelAgua in October 2014. Since then, I have had the opportunity to grow professionally while contributing to the implementation, development, and continuous improvement of DelAgua’s Tubeho Neza programme.
When I first joined DelAgua, I started as a Health Supervisor, leading teams of Community Health Workers across five sectors in Rusizi District. My main responsibilities included supervising the distribution of cookstoves and water filters to rural households, as well as supporting monitoring activities through what were then called Verification Forms.
In 2015, I was promoted to District Manager, where I became responsible for leading and coordinating DelAgua’s programme activities across an entire district. From 2022 to 2023, I was promoted to Data and Training Analyst, a role that allowed me to contribute more directly to data management, staff training, system use, and programme reporting. From 2024 to 2025, I served as Senior Data and Systems Analyst, with increased responsibility for data systems, analytics, reporting, and technical support.
In 2026, I was promoted to my current role as Information Systems Manager. In this role, I support the management of key digital platforms, data systems, reporting tools, system integrations, and user support across DelAgua.
Since joining DelAgua’s Tubeho Neza programme, I have gained valuable experience in field operations, community engagement, staff supervision, training, data collection, data management, reporting, and information systems. Starting from direct field implementation and later moving into data and systems roles has given me a strong understanding of how programme activities are planned, implemented, monitored, and improved.
One of the key lessons I have learned is that successful programme delivery depends on strong coordination between people, processes, and systems. I have also learned the importance of accurate data, timely reporting, strong field supervision, and continuous support to teams using digital tools. The programme has taught me to be adaptable, solution-oriented, and committed to continuous improvement, especially as DelAgua’s work has become increasingly dependent on technology and data-driven decision-making.
One of the most significant milestones in my career is the professional growth I have achieved since joining DelAgua, moving from a Health Supervisor role to my current position as Information Systems Manager. I am proud of the trust and opportunities I have received over the years, and of the contribution I have made at different levels of the programme, from field implementation to district coordination, training, data analysis, reporting, and systems management.
I am also proud to have supported the development and improvement of digital systems that help DelAgua manage operations more effectively. This includes supporting data collection platforms, reporting tools, databases, Business Intelligence dashboards, system integrations, and user support across teams. Another important milestone is the role I have played in helping staff adapt to new systems and ensuring that programme decisions are supported by reliable data.
Most importantly, I am proud to be part of a programme that has a direct impact on rural households, communities, and the environment. Contributing to work that improves lives while also supporting environmental protection makes my career journey with DelAgua both professionally meaningful and personally rewarding.
