I am pleased to share our first newsletter, which will bring you inside our operations, milestones, and the progress we are making across our programmes in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Stove distributions under our partnership with TotalEnergies, announced late last year have been completed, bringing the total number of stoves to 1.9 million, reaching more than 7 million people.
Carbon Reporting Milestone: Verra has approved the updated Common Tabular Format (CTF) tables submitted by the Rwanda Environment Management Authority (REMA), Rwanda’s Designated National Authority, formally recording Corresponding Adjustments for 5.69 million DelAgua credits.

Our Live Fyn programme team recently completed the distribution of over 42,000 improved cookstoves across 3 districts, bringing the total number of stoves distributed to date to 319,000.
We recently completed the distribution of 75,000 stoves in The Gambia, partnering with Gunvor, and bringing the programme total to 151,000 distributed stoves. This project has received an outstanding AA rating from Calyx Global. Here is what makes the project stand out.

Togo has issued us a Letter of No Objection from Ministère de l’Environnement et des Ressources Forestières (MERF);
Benin invited DelAgua to participate in workshop on developing technical guidelines for ITMOs under Article 6.2 of the Paris Agreement;
In Burundi we are finalizing an Investment Framework Agreement with the Presidential Investment Committee to fast-track project set up.
Beyond the metrics and mechanisms of carbon markets, it is the transformation of lives that remind us why this work matters.
The impact of our programmes is not just felt by the communities we serve; it is independently verified and academically documented.
In Sierra Leone’s Moyamba district, Hannah Ndanema’s neighbours used to call her “Mammy Busy” because she was previously too busy to socialise because of the burden of cooking. Since receiving the stove, she says it has helped her save time and feel like she belongs in her community.
She now has time to attend meetings at chiefdoms, sit with her grandchildren and tell them stories. She always encourages her fellow women to use the DelAgua stove for its many benefits, earning her the name “Mammy DelAgua”.
DelAgua is committed to lending its voice to the development of a credible, high-integrity carbon market, and in the past quarter, we participated in key international events.

Closer to our programmes, our Sierra Leone and The Gambia Country Directors, Ibrahim Marrah & Ousman Badjie, attended the Regional Meeting and National Workshop on Carbon Market Operationalization.
Additionally, in Sierra Leone, DelAgua participated in a Biodiversity Finance workshop hosted by the Ministry of Finance while in The Gambia, we attended the launch of the First Biennial Transparency Report (BTR1) and Fourth National Communication (NC4) project.
