DelAgua Named a Finalist in the Global Good Awards 'Climate for Good' Category
We are proud to share that DelAgua has been named a finalist in the Global Good Awards 2026, recognised in the Climate for Good category.
The Climate for Good category is for initiatives that go beyond emission reductions, recognising projects that simultaneously tackle climate change and deliver real, lasting benefits to people, the planet and communities. That means improvements in quality of life, poverty alleviation, health, income generation and the wider environment. This is exactly what DelAgua does.
Across Rwanda, The Gambia, Sierra Leone and soon Uganda, we have distributed over 2 million clean cookstoves to households that need them most, reaching more than 9.5 million people. The results are measurable across multiple benefits: significant reductions in carbon emissions, fewer cases of respiratory illness caused by indoor smoke, time saved for women and girls who no longer need to collect firewood, children have time to attend school and economic opportunities created through local jobs and income generation. Communities aren’t just benefiting from cleaner air; they are building better lives. This is what co-benefits look like in practice.
Being named a finalist is a recognition that also belongs to our partners and investors, our in-country teams who deliver the programme and the communities we work alongside every day. We are honoured to be in the company of this year’s finalists and look forward to the awards ceremony in September.
DelAgua has previously been recognised at the Global Good Awards, winning Silver in the ‘Community Partnership’ category in 2022 and Silver again in the ‘Technology for Good’ category in 2023. Find out more about our awards here.
