#Spotlight - World Water Relief - Providing Water & WASH Education

World Water Relief are providing safe filtered water and WASH education to the students and communities at each of their project schools in the Dominican Republic and Haiti.

They teach safe water and sanitation practices, in addition to hygiene & health-related skills, which enables children to become agents for change in the home and in their community. WASH in schools significantly reduces hygiene-related disease, increases student attendance and learning achievements, and contributes to personal dignity and gender equality.

WWR commit up to 10 years of continuing WASH education and system maintenance in each of their project schools. To make WASH education fun and valuable, they established 15-member water clubs at every school. Each summer, the World Water Relief hygiene coordinators in Haiti and the Dominican Republic meet with the clubs once per week to teach proper WASH practices and introduce new topics.
